Peculiarities of systemic lupus erythematosus course in men

Summary. Case of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in a man of 39 years old suffering the diseases since 2008 is presented. Main clinical presentations of the disease included subfibrile and febrile fever, myalgia, arthritis and arthralgia, serositis, skin lesions, early onset of atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction followed by stent implantation. Specific characteristics of the SLE course in men are onset in younger age comparing to women, high frequency of renal damage, atypical lesions of joints involving lower limbs and sacroiliitis, high prevalence of discoid skin lesions; prognosis is more unfavorable comparing to women.
